Communications And Social Media Manager | World Benchmarking Alliance | Netherlands

The World Benchmarking Alliance is a non-profit organisation helping to hold the world’s 2,000 most influential companies accountable for their part in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We do this by publishing free and publicly available benchmarks on their performance and showing what good corporate practice looks like. These benchmarks provide companies with a clear roadmap of what commitments and changes they must make to put our planet, society and economy on a more sustainable and resilient path. They also equip everyone – from governments and financial institutions to civil society organisations and individuals – with the insights that they need to hold businesses accountable to what they are responsible for.

Communication is key for storytelling, building momentum and driving action. We are looking for a Communications and Social Media Manager to join our communications team and focus on two responsibilities. Firstly, to support creating and distributing our content across our social media channels. Your writing will help us simplify research findings from different sustainability topics, make them accessible to a broader audience and create engagement online. You will track and analyse data from our social media platforms to optimise our social media contents’ reach, campaigns and relevance to our key audiences.

Secondly, you will lead the communication activities for the financial system transformation, through which we measure and rank the 400 most influential financial institutions on their contribution to a just and sustainable economy. As the communications point of contact for this transformation, you will help build and execute a successful communications plan to maximise the impact of their data and insights in the financial ecosystem.

What you will do

  • Lead communications activities for the financial system transformation, working closely with engagement and research colleagues. Create and deliver a communications plan and support the execution of communications deliverables.
  • Plan, design, write, edit and schedule effective social media content daily.
  • Manage the day-to-day activity and strategy implementation on social media accounts, ensuring alignment with overall communications and social media strategy.
  • Manage content calendars, coordinating posts and campaigns across platforms, with a particular focus on LinkedIn.
  • Lead the measurement and evaluation of our social media and campaign analytics, ensuring that these insights help to improve our communications.
  • Together with the communications team, deliver social media content that brings to life our research, values and key campaigns.
  • Collaborate with different teams, colleagues and external creators to plan and align content.
  • Ensure that all communication is on-brand and consistent in tone of voice, style and quality.

We are looking for someone with

  • 4–6 years experience in communications and social media
  • An interest in corporate sustainability, especially sustainable finance
  • Experience in social media management, community building and content creation
  • A working knowledge of Google Analytics and social media analytics
  • A knack for communicating complex data and research in a way that is simple and easy to understand
  • Ability to adapt to algorithm changes and experiment with new content formats and features
  • Experience working with or in the finance industry would be an advantage.
  • Strong planning skills, creative and an eye for detail
  • Fluent in English
  • A positive and proactive attitude, team spirit and strong interpersonal skills who is comfortable working in a ‘TEAL’, multicultural, multidisciplinary and remote environment.
