Job Overview

We are in search of a proactive and experienced Communications Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Communications to design and implement a robust communications strategy aimed at enhancing visibility and engagement among long-term care workers and essential policy stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for storytelling and a solid background in crafting strategic communications that resonate with diverse, multilingual audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications to formulate and execute a communications strategy that effectively showcases the organization’s mission, programs, and initiatives while broadening visibility among stakeholders and long-term care workers.
  • Develop and manage editorial and social media calendars, ensuring the delivery of timely and relevant content.
  • Oversee the updating and refreshing of website and Intranet content, guaranteeing consistent and informative messaging that reflects the contributions of long-term care workers and the communities they serve.
  • Monitor industry trends and community issues, adjusting the communications plan to maintain its relevance and impact.
  • Manage communication operations, including the design, printing, and distribution of materials, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, community leaders, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Supervise the Communications Coordinator, providing guidance and support.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management skills, particularly in the creative process, with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing and design capabilities, with experience in producing media releases, reports, newsletters, social media content, and more. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Canva, and video editing software is a plus.
  • Experience in media outreach and managing media relations.
  • Familiarity with website platforms such as WordPress and analytics tools like Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Strong research, writing, and presentation abilities, with a knack for crafting persuasive and inspiring communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to engage diverse audiences and convey messages with compassion and professionalism.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating respect for cultural diversity.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English, Chinese/English, Korean/English, or Armenian/English) are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare sector is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, Google Apps, and basic database tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
