Brookwood Church Communications Manager
Position Overview: The Communications Director is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communication efforts, ensuring brand consistency, managing social media platforms, and supporting the church’s weekend services. The role also includes the potential to write devotionals and contribute to the spiritual growth of the congregation through written content. (Must be, or be willing to become a member of Brookwood Church.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for ministry and supporting the church’s mission.
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or web management is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in hosting or public speaking is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Branding & Consistency:
- Develop and maintain consistent branding across all church communications (digital, print, and media).
- Ensure that all communication materials align with the church’s mission, values, and tone.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to support branding and communication needs for various ministry programs and events.
- Weekend Service Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating communication needs for weekend services, including announcements, bulletins, and digital content.
- Recruit and schedule scripture readers for Sunday services.
- Act as host and/or do the welcome for Sunday services.
- Partner with AWE Director to assist with event promotion, ensuring that important information is effectively communicated before, during, and after services.
- Social Media Management:
- Manage and update the church’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, , YouTube etc.).
- Create engaging content that fosters community, encourages engagement, and shares church updates.
- Monitor social media trends, insights, and engagement to optimize church presence online.
- Respond to messages and inquiries on social platforms in a timely and welcoming manner.
- Writing & Devotionals:
- Write and develop devotionals (based on information from Senior Pastor), blog posts, and other spiritual content that aligns with the church’s teachings.
- Assist in writing scripts for videos, announcements, and other communication needs.
- Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to create content that nurtures the spiritual growth of the congregation.
- General Communications:
- Provide strategic guidance and hands-on support to ministries in developing and executing effective communication plans across various platforms, ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of Brookwood Church and the individual ministry.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop and implement communication strategies, providing insights and support on key initiatives as needed.
