Leverage your community services industry experience to support the establishment of a new organisation dedicated to administering portable long service leave for the community services sector.

SA Portable Long Service Leave (SAPLSL) is establishing a new state-based entity to work with both employers and employees, to administer portable long service leave entitlements for the South Australian community services industry.  

SAPLSL are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Officer to join their team in late January 2025. This role will establish meaningful connections between the organisation and industry employers and employees, to promote and increase awareness of the Portable Long Service Leave Scheme. 

The role will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement strategies to promote awareness of the scheme that include 

• visits with peak bodies, large employers and other key stakeholders in both urban and regional locations
• delivery of presentations at events, webinars and within a classroom environment
• attendance at industry events 
• administering the website, social media and direct marketing as platforms to distribute communication 
• researching advertising and sponsorship opportunities and coordinating the implementation of these 
• development and review of printed and digital marketing and information materials

About You:

You are a people-focused professional who thrives on building relationships. Your ability to communicate effectively, combined with a deep understanding of the community services industry, will set you up for success in this role.

The position requires

• Sound knowledge of contemporary marketing and stakeholder engagement practices across all communication channels including social media, internet and printed media.
• A strong understanding of the community service industry, preferably coming through work experience within the industry.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to third parties.
• Experience representing an organisation and presenting to audiences. 
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing consistently branded marketing content, including social media messaging, website content and other promotional marketing and engagement materials.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including effectively liaising with a wide range of people and key stakeholders under pressure, quickly grasping and assessing concepts and situations and resolving conflict situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction, coordinate, multi-task and prioritise work and organise time effectively to meet deadlines. 
• Ability to demonstrate a positive and self-motivated attitude and willingness to embrace a challenge to achieve team and organisation objectives.
• Current unrestricted South Australian Drivers licence.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Proficiency in multiple languages.
