About the Role
In this role, you will promote our innovative products and systems to key architects, specifiers, and strategic accounts. You will also share responsibility for driving specifications in your sales area. Your primary objectives will be achieved through presenting AIA-approved courses, conducting product knowledge sessions, and evaluating project specifications. Stay ahead of market trends by actively participating in industry associations. Effectively organize, plan, and manage activities both independently and in a team setting. This position will cover the Gulf and Southeast sales area and should be based in either Georgia or Florida.
Responsibilities
- Product Promotion: Promote products, systems, and brands provided by National Gypsum to key architects and assist field sales with contractor engagements in their assigned sales area(s). Build strong relationships with architects and specifiers to solidify specifications for products provided by National Gypsum during the planning stage.
- Representation: Showcase Gold Bond, PermaBASE, and ProForm products in AIA-approved presentations and seminars. Represent the Company and brands at industry events in assigned territory.
- Strategic Engagement: Promote products, systems, and brands provided by National Gypsum to architectural firms, construction departments of major corporations, institutions, and governmental agencies in assigned area(s).
- Project Tracking: Work closely with field sales teams to monitor and track project bidding for major commercial construction projects throughout the region.to ensure products provided by National Gypsum are specified on major commercial construction projects.
- Industry Involvement: Be an active member in key industry associations like AIA, CSI, USGBC and SCIP – in assigned area(s).
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor and evaluate competitive products, technical activity, and promotional programs, providing insights to management.
- Code Monitoring: Monitor changes in local/regional building codes, fire ratings and acoustical requirements to determine impact on products provided by National Gypsum. Build relationships with code officials and provide them with continuing education on our products, systems, and brands.
- Training: Assist in training new and existing sales associates on product knowledge and job tracking tools.
- Collaboration: Work with Marketing on industry research and new product development, systems, and processes; including testing and evaluation new product prototypes, reformulated products, and fire testing requirements.
- Team Building: Attend area sales meetings and be an integral member of the field sales team in assigned area(s).

Qualifications
Education: BS or BA degree required; advanced degree, and/or degree in architecture preferred.
Required Skills
- Experience: Minimum five years in sales/technical roles in building materials or three years as an architect or specification writer.
- Skills: Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills with prior experience speaking to groups, clear writing abilities and experience in unstructured environments are key position requirements.
- Network: Established relationships with architects and specifiers in the assigned area(s) are strongly desired and a minimum of three architectural or customer references must be provided.
- Credentials: CSI CDT and LEED credentials preferred.
