We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Content Manager to join our growing team to report into the SEO manager function. This exciting role will focus on creating, proofreading, and optimising high-quality, engaging, and SEO-driven content across multiple e-commerce businesses. The primary focus of this role will be on ensuring the quality and performance of content created by external writers while producing web content that drives results.

This position involves a high degree of autonomy and responsibility; the role will also require the management of a junior executive function.

As a key contributor, you’ll plan, create, and maintain page content for two of our businesses, while providing proofreading, quality control, and guidance to external writers for one of our brands. You will also monitor and report on the performance of content, helping us to meet business goals and deliver results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Content Quality & Production: Plan, write, and optimise SEO-driven content for web pages and product descriptions, applying a strong attention to detail to produce engaging and high-performing copy. This also includes managing the blog and creating compelling content to support the business and SEO efforts
  • Proofreading & Quality Control: Review, edit, and refine content produced by external writers, ensuring consistency with brand voice, accuracy, and SEO best practices
  • Content Planning: Develop and manage content calendars, collaborating with wider teams to align content with seasonal priorities, campaigns, and promotions
  • Content Optimisation: Review and improve existing content to enhance user experience, ensure relevance, and drive organic traffic
  • Performance Reporting: Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs to monitor content performance and provide monthly reports with actionable insights to improve results
  • Keyword Research & SEO Guidance: Identify keyword opportunities and provide briefs to external writers, ensuring all content is optimised for search engines and aligned with audience intent
  • Stakeholder Management: Whilst this role will report directly into the SEO Manager, the successful candidate will be play a pivotal role in managing the various different stakeholders who have a vested interest in content, this includes aspects of category teams and the Social Media team

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a similar content role, with a portfolio of published work demonstrating SEO-driven content creation
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple platforms
  • Experience working with e-commerce or writing content for technical or industrial products is desirable
  • A solid understanding of SEO best practices, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, and content performance tracking
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs to monitor and report on content performance
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to communicate confidently with team members and external writers
