Purpose of Role
Responsible for writing impactful, original copy across multiple mediums, including web, email, social media, radio, and TV, that resonates with Finance of America’s target audiences and achieves strategic business objectives.
Expectations
- Writes clear, engaging copy that’s on-brand, strategically aligned, and adheres to legal and compliance requirements.
- Conducts through research, keeps up with copywriting trends, and works with subject matter experts to create impactful long and short-form copy.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage industry and Finance of America’s product suite.
- Participates in kickoff and brainstorm calls for creative team projects, ensuring all project requirements, specifications, and deadlines are clearly understood and actionable.
- Minimizes revisions and approach feedback with a positive, problem-solving mindset.
- Collaborates with the Creative Director, Senior Copywriter, and Content Director to maintain and refine copy standards and style.
- Copyedits collateral written by stakeholders across the company.
- Provides a range of options for testing themes and positioning, and supporting decisions with research and best practices.
- Meets or exceeds the company standards of integrity, service, teamwork, and respect for each individual in every interaction.
- Exhibits an observable sense of urgency in the execution of all job functions and duties.
- Fulfills all copy requests as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION – REQUIRED
- High School Diploma
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION – PREFERRED
- BA – Bachelor of Arts
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION – FIELD(S)/PROFESSION(S)
QUALIFICATIONS – EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 2-4 years experience in copywriting.
- Strong copywriting portfolio and relevant work samples
- Positive team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent writing, copyediting, creative ideation, and research skills.
- Ability to work within brand, legal, and compliance guidelines
- Ability to consistently demonstrate attention to detail
- AP style proficency
- Experience in the mortgage industry or related field is beneficial but not required
- Self-motivated and strategically minded
- Ability to organize and collaborate remotely with tight deadlines
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($70,000 – $80,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
