General Description
The Credit Analyst is responsible for providing timely and accurate support to the Credit Officer with all related work. The Credit Analyst is expected to manage various assignments at one time, each with varying degrees of complexity.
Position Requirements
- Analyzes the financial data of new and existing borrowers and prepares credit requests and reviews of existing credits.
- Provides general background of clients, transaction summary, projection modeling, loan covenant & condition compliance along with profitability, risk rating, relationship & industry analyses.
- Assists in determining best loan structure for requests, helps to foresee future opportunities with clients, and provides credit recommendations.
- Analyzes account receivables, inventory and accounts payable for verification of availability of funds for borrowing base clients.
- Reviews appraisals
- Monitors floor plans
- Inspects collateral
- Prepares internal evaluations
- Maintains logs
- Maintains working knowledge of guidelines and policies
- Provides strong and clear communication to co-workers and third parties
- Adheres to all applicable internal policies and procedures, and protect the confidentiality of borrower information.
- Follows BSA policies and procedures as applicable to job functions.
- Assists with other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years applicable experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or business preferred.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of credit services and a complete understanding of Credit Policy.
- Has experience reading tax returns (both business and personal).
- Demonstrates analytical, decision-making, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates effective business writing and professional communication skills.
- Must be competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications, electronic mail, and various Windows based software applications including, but not limited to, banking applications, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
- Exhibits strong attention to detail and works efficiently.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and effectively without detailed instruction.
- Honors State Bank philosophies, policies and expectations regarding core values, customer service, human resource policies and code of conduct and ethics.
- Demonstrates acceptable personal financial responsibility and be bondable.
Physical Requirements
- Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time. Receiving detailed information verbally, in person, in writing, and by telephone is essential.
- Physical and mental ability to perform the essential functions of the job as listed.
- Able to regularly stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to verbally communicate effectively with others.
- Able to legally operate an automobile in order to perform external real estate collateral inspections and other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.
This position will have no direct supervisory duties. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President – Chief Credit Officer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
