Cyber Security Architect (Remote)

Strategium is seeking experienced cyber security architects with 7+ years’ experience to join our team. Immediate opportunities are available for Canberra-based clients; however, we are constantly on the lookout for Cyber Security Architects to support work we do in other states and territories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk assessments and threat modelling to identify and prioritise security needs.
• Development and implementation of cyber security policies, standards, guidelines and best practices to align with the security architecture and business objectives.
• Development and maintenance of an organisation’s cyber security architecture in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Develop detailed architecture diagrams, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaboration with relevant IT and business teams to integrate security requirements into system designs and development processes.
• Design and configuration of security solutions for hardware, software, and network components.
• Test and evaluate security performance of identified solutions.
• Provide guidance to staff and users on security matters.
• Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats and technologies.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, information technology, cyber security or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, TOGAF, CISM, SABSA, etc.)
• 5-10+ years in cyber security with at least 3 years in a security architecture or design role.
• Proficiency in designing secure network architectures (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, access controls, intrusion detection systems).
• Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams and drive security initiatives.

Desirable:

• Hands-on experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, Essential Eight, ISO 27001) and risk management methodologies.
• A willingness to travel domestically for short periods as required.
