Cyber Security Consultant (Remote)

This position contributes to building DEMIRS into a high-performance innovative organisation by planning the operation and ongoing tuning of a Cyber and Information Security Management Framework, including monitoring, reviewing, and continuously improving procedures, controls, and technologies to protect the Department’s business information assets.

As the Senior Cyber Security Consultant, you will contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the IT Operations Branch and will be responsible for maturing the Department’s Cyber and Information Security Management framework, policies, procedures and controls.

The role:

• Develop, implement, monitor and report on the Department’s Cyber and Information Security Management framework, policies, procedures and controls. 
• Analyse the security implications of new ICT technologies to the Department’s ICT environment and provide advice and recommendations.
• Monitor and review the Department’s cyber and information security environment and co-ordinate the planning, preparation for, and management of, security threats and incidents. 

Essential requirements for this role:

• Demonstrated good knowledge and practical experience in delivering cyber and information security technologies spanning network, infrastructure and business systems within a complex ICT environment.
• Demonstrated good knowledge and practical experience in the development and maintenance of cyber and information security governance frameworks which comply with Government and industry policies, standards and best practices. 
• Demonstrated good written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated high level of analytical, problem solving and assessment skills.
