Data Engineer (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing. This includes data modeling, schema design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting database issues.
• Normalize and optimize transactional data models to ensure a scalable architecture.
• Improve SQL query performance by optimizing databases and implementing best practices in data management.
• Participate, end to end, in the product life cycle: discovery, estimates, requirements gathering, solution design, planning, development, testing, release and warranty
• Advocate for technical improvements, and help shape our technical roadmap
• We’re pulling in diverse data sources. You’ll need to learn our data and bring a strong grasp of ETL & ELT, workflows, and data organization via efficient data lake and relational designs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data acquisition, transformation, cleaning, and data mining both structured and unstructured data
• Exceptional ability to write, explain, and optimize complex SQL statements
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL schema design, tradeoffs, and constraints
• Solid experience developing software with PHP with MySQL.
• Strong understanding of RESTFul APIs, backend application development and data modeling.
• Prior experience with eCommerce and complex Product Information Management modeling.
• Advanced English
