Data Engineer (Remote)

Our product team currently consists of about 15 people. Ten of these are Ukrainians working fully remotely, and five are based in the office in Indonesia. Despite our small team, we deliver big value for the company, from validating ideas to implementing complex solutions.

We are looking for a Data Engineer to help us design, build, and maintain a robust data infrastructure supporting the organization’s data-driven goals. This role ensures secure, scalable data handling, enabling teams to access high-quality information for analytics, decision-making, and AI-driven innovations through reliable pipelines and optimized workflows.

This position is crucial in advancing the company’s digital transformation, supporting revenue growth, and empowering data-driven strategies across all business units.

What we expect from you:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of designing and managing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure;
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with practical experience in building ETL/ELT processes;
• Expertise in SQL and database management, with the ability to optimize complex queries and ensure efficient data access;
• Familiarity with big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery);
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience deploying data solutions in cloud environments;
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, data governance, and data quality assurance
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

And what responsibilities would you have:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources;
• Automate and optimize data workflows to ensure reliable, real-time data processing and accessibility;
• Develop and manage the underlying data architecture, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of large data volumes;
• Work with cloud platforms to ensure data solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-effective;
• Implement data quality checks, validation, and error-handling procedures to ensure accurate, consistent, and reliable data;
• Enforce data governance standards, including data security, access control, and compliance with regulatory requirements;
• Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or inefficiencies;
• Continuously evaluate and enhance data infrastructure to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability;
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering;
• Lead initiatives to incorporate new tools, methodologies, or practices that drive efficiency, reduce costs, or improve data capabilities.
