Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively in hands-on software development for a comprehensive data initiative operating within a cloud framework.
- Align your contributions with the organization’s broader goals, ensuring that the systems you create effectively support these objectives.
- Collaborate efficiently with engineering teams to produce scalable and adaptable solutions that are both loosely coupled and efficient.
- Maintain high coding standards through code reviews and exemplifying best practices in your work.
- Break down large team objectives into smaller, manageable tasks to promote clarity and focus.
- Provide precise estimates for EPICs and user stories to facilitate project planning and execution.
- Contribute to agile sprint cycles, reinforcing disciplined methodologies for smooth project delivery.
- Offer architectural insights to assist various projects within the team.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting growth and fostering an environment of knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Scala, Python, SQL, Django, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Amazon Web Services – EC2, EBS, RedShift, EMR, RDS, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like Spark, MapReduce, or Hadoop.
- Knowledge of software version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
- A cooperative mindset with experience in collaborative software development environments.
- Understanding of Agile development practices and experience in Agile teams.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or software development roles with a focus on cloud and big data technologies.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
