Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead cloud-based data development initiatives for a large-scale data project, making significant strides in healthcare innovation.
  • Ensure your project aligns with broader organizational engineering goals, adapting your approach as necessary for optimal results.
  • Collaborate effectively across engineering teams to create adaptable, scalable, and loosely coupled solutions.
  • Uphold and implement rigorous coding standards through proactive code reviews and exemplary work practices.
  • Support the team in translating extensive project goals into actionable tasks, providing time estimates for EPICs and User Stories to streamline planning.
  • Actively engage in agile sprints, contributing to the team’s adherence to best practices for superior performance.
  • Offer architectural guidance to ensure project alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and nurture junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused team environment.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in one or more high-level programming languages such as Scala, Python, SQL, Django, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experienced with cloud services, particularly within the AWS ecosystem (e.g., EC2, EBS, RedShift, EMR, ELB, SNS, RDS, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like Spark, MapReduce, or Hadoop is advantageous.
  • Skilled in utilizing software version control systems such as Git or Subversion.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a team environment, employing Agile methodologies to enhance workflow.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in data engineering and software development, showcasing a solid foundation in cloud-based solutions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
