Deputy Operations Manager Central Europe | Intrepid Travel | Slovakia

At Intrepid Travel we exist to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever – for both people and the planet. More than 34 years later, we’re proud to be a certified B Corp with hundreds of trips in over 100 countries.

The world needs more Intrepid people:

Join Intrepid as the Deputy Operations Manager for Central Europe, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the Operations Manager and Management Team to ensure the smooth and profitable delivery of all Intrepid group trips and other travel products.

This dynamic position involves providing both managerial and administrative support, with a focus on resolving day-to-day issues and offering support to our Tour Leaders on the ground. You’ll be the first point of contact for Tour Leaders when issues arise during trips, offering direct assistance and solutions, while ensuring safety standards are upheld and company policies are consistently promoted. Additionally, you’ll actively monitor customer feedback, taking action to address concerns and drive continuous improvement in the travel experience.

Initially remote, this full-time, permanent role will need to be based in Central Europe in one of the following regions: Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, or Germany. Travel within the region and to our East Europe office in Zagreb will be required, with the position transitioning to an office-based role once our Central Europe office is established.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Extensive travel experience in the region and a passion for exploring new destinations.
  • Travel industry experience, ideally as an Intrepid Tour Leader, with a strong understanding of our style of travel and Responsible Travel philosophy.
  • Proven management, coaching, and training skills, with the ability to support and develop teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and another European language, with a preference for a local language.
  • Strong organisational skills with a reliable and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of regional cultures and business etiquette, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

If you’re ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment, this is your opportunity to drive Intrepid’s growth in Central Europe.

Please note that due to some of our adverts overlapping with the Christmas holiday period, there may be a delay in providing updates. We appreciate your patience during this time!
