Tribal Tech, LLC is in search of a Deputy Project Manager of Training and Technical Assistance.As the Deputy Project Manager of Training and Technical Assistance you will have an opportunity to address the most pressing health and wellness needs in Native American communities. You will be responsible for overseeing the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Behavioral Health and Wellness Program (BHWP) training and technical assistance department. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing the program’s staff members, maintaining smooth operations, project planning, staffing, budgeting and ensuring the efficient execution of project tasks. As part of our ambitious and passionate team, you will create a lasting impact on the mental health and wellness of Native American students.
The BIE BHWP provides culturally relevant, evidence-based, and trauma-informed behavioral health and wellness services for school staff, students, and families at all Bureau-funded institutions, including Bureau-operated schools, Tribally Controlled Schools, post-secondary institutions, and Tribal colleges and universities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations and respond to all training and technical assistance (TTA) requests from BIE funded schools and entities.TTA provided includes culturally relevant methods for wellness, prevention, and crisis support to strengthen local capacity.
- Supervise the TTA team and provide management support for all team members.
- Track all incoming TTA requests, TTA provided, and details of each event including monitor and analyze learning engagement and participation metrics and gather and interpret survey responses to assess effectiveness of TTA programs.
- Provide training and technical assistance (TTA) to a portfolio regarding the prevention of substance use/misuse, prevention of suicide, promotion of mental health, and behavior management skill building.
- Responsible for regular and proactive client, team, and stakeholder communications and relationship management.
- Collaborate with the project team leads to manage objectives, contribute information for action plans, support implementation, ensure quality, conduct audits, analyze trends, and support continuous improvements.
- Oversee the management of budgeting and planning of project activities, time frames, staffing, and resources.
- Set and monitor TTA team procedures/processes that deliver positive outcomes.
- Ensure project activities comply with Federal government regulations, policies, and ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Aptitude and experience managing Federal projects required (i.e., Project Administration/Management, Planning, Developing and Tracking Budgets, Travel, Supervision, Staffing, Performance and Process Improvement, Coaching).
- Experience managing a diverse program/project team (e.g., technical/non-expert, geographic location, cultural diversity).
- Prior successful experience in professional training, instructional design and development, and training delivery particularly in Indigenous, Tribal and Native American history, education, issues and concerns.
- Experience in adult learning principles and methodologies.
- Effective communication skills across multiple teams.
- Ability to effectively summarize and convey information to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to form positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High-quality written work that demonstrates attention to detail and a grasp of large conceptual frameworks.
- Change management and consensus-building skills, with the ability to inspire a team to action.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Word, and database management.
- Will be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a background clearance.
Education and Experience:
- Masters degree and at least 2 years of management experience or Bachelors degree with 5 years related experience.
- Previous work in Native American/Alaska Native communities highly desired.
