As we grow, we’re seeking a talented Desktop Application Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of high-performance desktop applications.
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Desktop Application Developer with experience contributing to projects like VSCode or similar open-source platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electron and TypeScript development and will be passionate about building scalable, efficient desktop applications. International open-source developers are highly preferred for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance desktop applications using Electron and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
- Contribute to open-source projects or internal tools that enhance the overall developer experience.
- Work closely with the product and design teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks in applications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Electron and TypeScript development.
- Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects, ideally to VSCode or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of desktop application architecture and best practices.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Familiarity with cross-platform development for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, remote environment.
Nice-to-Haves
- Contributions to VSCode or other well-known open-source desktop projects.
- Experience with Microsoft’s development ecosystem (though not required).
- Knowledge of UI/UX principles and experience with design collaboration tools like Figma or Sketch.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
