Desktop Support Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking an accomplished Desktop Support Specialist to join our innovative team in a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves providing exceptional technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the efficiency of our technology services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Set up and configure new workstations, applications, upgrades, and patches.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Collaborate with the IT Service Desk and Engineers to address technical challenges and implement new technologies to enhance overall functionality.
• Respond to helpdesk tickets promptly, providing on-site or remote assistance to end users.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, resolutions, and processes within the helpdesk system.
• Offer technical assistance, support, and training to IT staff members.
• Plan, test, and execute system and software upgrades.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and document findings and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations by addressing audit findings.
• Actively participate as a key member of the Incident Management Team during declared incidents.
• Engage in a rotational 24⁄7 on-call support schedule.
• Attend training sessions to expand knowledge of IT systems and compliance practices.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in relevant technologies, including Microsoft Windows 10⁄11, imaging, deployment, and patching processes.
• Proficient in Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, GPO, DNS, and DHCP.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Change Management and Problem Management.
• Understanding of networking principles and remote support tools.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities, organizational skills, and customer service orientation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an additional 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are preferred.
