Devops Database Engineer (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee our MySQL/InnoDB and Redis/KeyDB databases, ensuring effective creation, migration, backup, and replication processes.
• Design, plan, and implement scalable database schemas with a focus on performance.
• Evaluate current database systems and provide recommendations for enhancements to accommodate future growth.
• Establish and enforce comprehensive backup strategies to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Develop automation solutions to facilitate streamlined database management operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee high-quality outputs and smooth integration of systems.
• Stay informed about security best practices and apply them diligently.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in configuring, supporting, and modeling MySQL/MariaDB databases, preferably in a Linux environment.
• Strong grasp of database concepts, including ACID properties, schemas, stored procedures, and replication.
• Proven troubleshooting abilities in database performance analysis and optimization.
• Knowledge of storage, networking, and systems that influence database performance.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Terraform).
• Familiarity with troubleshooting in UNIX/Linux settings.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
