Devops Engineer For Database (Remote)

We are seeking a skilled Database DevOps Engineer to join our innovative and collaborative team. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing our data infrastructure by utilizing your expertise in MySQL and DevOps methodologies to design, deploy, maintain, and enhance our vital databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support our MySQL/InnoDB & Redis/KeyDB databases, including the creation of new databases, migration processes, backups, and replication tasks.
• Design and deploy database schemas with a focus on scalability and performance optimization.
• Evaluate existing databases and propose enhancements to accommodate future growth.
• Implement comprehensive backup strategies to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Develop automation solutions to streamline database management processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality deliverables and smooth integration across systems.
• Stay informed about security best practices and apply them effectively to safeguard our data.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in configuring, supporting, and modeling MySQL/MariaDB databases (Linux environment preferred).
• Strong understanding of database principles, including ACID properties, schemas, stored procedures, and replication.
• Proficient in troubleshooting database performance and optimization.
• Familiarity with storage, networking, and system elements that affect database performance.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Terraform).
• Expertise in troubleshooting within UNIX/Linux environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
