Job Description:
KEV is seeking a strong, experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Operations team. Reporting to the Director, Technology Operations & Security, you will be responsible for effectively managing the DevOps environment and the build and deployment processes within. This will require an understanding the architecture of each application and ensuring they match with the business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the deployment process including understanding project requirements and deploying builds into various environments to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Follow up with developers to prepare environment diagrams for applications to be deployed
- Engineer the right solutions utilizing automation, Infrastructure as Code, & CI/CD principles.
- Co-ordinate with the DevOps team to get the applications deployed in the respective environments, auditing the configuration settings of the components of each application before each deployment
- Understand the release pipelines in Microsoft Azure and approve/track/review the releases and build numbers of each applications
- Work with the Security team in designing a DevSecOps strategy
- Implement DevOps development processes, continuous integration, continuous delivery, dependency management, application infrastructure and continuous feedback
- Research, plan, design, implement and support existing and emerging infrastructure technologies in a complex environment
- Determine the setup, configuration and maintenance required for new and/or upgraded servers/systems/applications according to industry best practices and/or standards
- Handle team member escalation of problems by direction/mentoring or by resolution, delegating where appropriate
- Load balancing / proxying / replicating of services, systems, components and processes
- Maintain internal infrastructure, monitoring systems and a full Microsoft stack, including VMs, IaaS, and PaaS services.
- Develop and maintain system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes
- Lead and track projects and system incidents through to resolution via the IT ticket tracking system and IT Logs, including incident responses and investigations
Requirements and Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, including experience working in MS Azure and with Azure DevOps specifically
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent technical certification in an applicable discipline
- Appropriate Microsoft Certifications are a strong nice to have
- Must be located in Pacific or Mountain time zone
- Previous experience in SaaS support and delivery, IaaS and PaaS specifically in an Azure environment
- Experience in IaC (Infrastructure as Code), specifically in relation to Azure
- Knowledge of security principles in a highly complex ecosystem
- Familiarity with tools for debugging, diagnosing and fixing issues on applicable systems
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both management and technical teams
- Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize and multitask various projects in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate, troubleshoot and fix errors common to applications and application services
