In this role, you’ll be the first marketer and part of an environment that thrives on innovation, creativity, and driving real results. The company is called Chiefs and they aim to help companies grow by providing access to fractional C-level executives.

The Role

  • Lead Generation: Develop innovative approaches for building and growing pipeline, with a primary focus on LinkedIn, using performance marketing, content marketing, and other engagement strategies as-needed.

  • Audience Segmentation: Develop targeted approaches for different segments of the market.

  • Content Creation: While you may not write all content, you’re accountable to ensure you leverage resources to produce content and creative for ads, posts, articles, and other assets that speak to our target audience and drive engagement.

  • Cross-Channel Optimization: Coordinate multichannel campaigns, integrating efforts across content marketing, SEO, email, social media, and paid advertising to drive conversions.

  • Customer Journey Mapping: Analyse and optimise the customer journey and marketing funnels to improve acquisition and conversion rates.

  • Campaign Budget Management: Oversee budgets for paid acquisition channels and work with the finance team to allocate spend efficiently.

  • Innovate and Test: Leverage data and analytics tools to monitor, analyse, and iterate on campaign performance.

What Success Looks Like in 90 Days:

  1. You have worked with the founders to determine a list of strategic marketing priorities and objectives.
  2. You have developed a plan for executing, including a comprehensive list of requirements, required budget, metrics for success, and clear timeline for each campaign.
  3. You have provided weekly reports about the progress of campaigns, including options for resolving immediate blockers and challenges.

The Person

  • Experience: 5-7+ years in digital marketing or growth marketing roles, with a strong focus on performance marketing, demand generation, and customer acquisition.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn Ads Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, and A/B testing tools.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on metrics and KPIs.
  • Creativity and Innovation: A forward-thinking approach with the ability to develop creative growth strategies.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across multiple teams.
  • You solve problems when possible and present options for solutions when escalation is required.
  • You communicate early and often–and always say the hard things.
  • You’re hungry to learn and passionate about marketing

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: R45,000 – R55,000 (depending on experience)

Through Marketing Pros, the successful candidate will have access to a shared workspace in Cape Town, a Slack group with other South Africa-based marketing professionals, and regular social and training events.
