Teknikos is a dynamic and growing technology consulting firm, with teams based in both the US and offshore locations. We specialize in delivering custom software development solutions and are expanding rapidly. To support our growth, we’re looking for a Director of Project Management to lead and scale our project management operations.

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about transforming how project management should work? Do you feel held back by your current environment and are ready to take charge of building a high-functioning project management practice? At Teknikos, you’ll have the opportunity to implement your vision, leading key customer projects while also shaping the future of project management at our company.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on capacity and also enjoys developing the systems and processes that will support future growth. As Director of Project Management, you’ll guide teams across the US and offshore, managing software delivery from concept to completion. You’ll balance immediate project needs with long-term strategic planning to continuously improve and scale our project management capabilities.

You’ll play a key leadership role within our Professional Services organization, overseeing long-term product development teams and project-based teams across geographies. This position will also involve onboarding, organizing, and managing both internal and external resources.

If you’re ready to move beyond the status quo and make a lasting impact, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to deliver high-quality software projects on time and within scope.
  • Define and implement project management processes and policies, ensuring consistency and quality across all teams.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify and manage the allocation of internal and external resources (US-based and offshore) to meet project demands.
  • Program Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines that align with business goals.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource utilization, providing regular financial and progress updates to key stakeholders.
  • Project Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for project delivery.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Anticipate risks and proactively resolve issues, working closely with Account Management to keep clients informed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and align with client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, gather requirements, and manage expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the project management team, fostering a culture of collaboration across departments and geographies.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Track and report on project performance, using tools and systems to provide transparency to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Growth: Recruit, onboard, and expand the project management team to meet growing demand.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in a professional services or software development environment.
  • Strong technical acumen and experience leading cross-functional teams using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience managing US-based and offshore teams.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills with experience developing processes from the ground up.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Sales and/or Account Management to drive client satisfaction.
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certifications are highly preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple, complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Proven experience scaling teams and improving processes.
  • Strong relationship management, particularly with clients and internal teams.
