Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a data-driven editorial strategy across various platforms.
- Establish clear objectives and define the editorial vision in alignment with company goals.
- Manage the editorial budget to align with broader organizational objectives.
- Serve as the editorial team’s representative within the leadership framework.
- Report on essential projects and metrics while steering strategic planning quarterly and annually.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to support unified goals.
- Supervise and enhance editorial calendars to ensure timely and pertinent content.
- Curate, compose, and edit diverse editorial materials, including news articles, features, blogs, and more.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with writers, instructors, partners, and content creators to sustain a steady content flow.
- Engage in social media initiatives and video production, including script development for platforms like YouTube.
- Guarantee content relevance and superior quality for a national urban planning audience.
- Stay abreast of trends and changes in urban planning and the media landscape.
- Lead and mentor the editorial team, including the Editor and Video Producer & Editor, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met.
- Hold weekly one-on-one meetings to align priorities and ensure high-quality output.
Required Skills
- Over 5 years of pertinent experience in editorial management, urban planning, or a similar field.
- A strong passion for urban planning, coupled with knowledge of the planning media landscape.
- Exceptional editing and writing capabilities; experience in online journalism or communications is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in growing and managing a media website.
- Familiarity with content management systems, SEO, and data analytics tools.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Jira, Notion, Adobe Creative Suite, and analytics instruments.
- A strong interest in business growth and development opportunities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in editorial management, urban planning, or a related domain.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Urban Planning, or a relevant field is preferred.

Compensation And Benefits
- Base salary: (70K – )115K, based on experience.
- Paid time off: 15 days, increasing to 20 days after four years.
- Holiday time off: approximately 10 days per year.
