Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

Competitor and Market Monitoring

  • Perform daily or weekly horizon scanning of competitor movements in the SPaG landscape and take action as needed.

  • Stay updated with all relevant guidance and spot opportunities through monitoring competitors and government updates specific to language education.

Innovation and Idea Generation

  • Identify and develop unmissable (“brickwall”) opportunities related to Twinkl’s SPaG content and spelling apps.

  • Generate big ideas to solve customer pain points.
  • Drive the development of new content and features for Twinkl’s SPaG content and spelling apps through the content roadmap/app development roadmap.

Research and Guidance

  • Stay updated on current research in language education and filter relevant findings to the teams.

  • Support production and development teams with up-to-date guidance specifically for Twinkl’s SPaG content and spelling app development.

Strategy and Prioritisation

  • Create and execute annual business strategies for Twinkl’s SPaG content and spelling appsw.

  • Decide on current and future priorities based on business strategies.
  • Create the right content at the right time, clearly communicating resource priorities to the production team.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with other ECLs to ensure a cohesive approach to SPaG content and resources across the collection.

  • Liaise with other teams and key stakeholders (e.g., marketing, product) to organise, communicate, and promote SPaG content and spelling apps.

  • Execute a content linking strategy to ensure a seamless user journey through SPaG content and tools.

Performance and Insights

  • Share successes and opportunities for improvement specific to SPaG content and spelling apps.

  • Gather insights from various sources (e.g., Tableau, social media, email) to inform decisions and identify new opportunities for SPaG resources.

  • Be responsible for the success of SPaG content lines and spelling apps.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be deeply passionate about SPaG and language education, with a strong commitment to improving literacy.

  • Have strong strategic planning skills to set priorities and execute annual business strategies for SPaG content.
  • Possess a creative mindset to generate innovative ideas and drive content creation through the content roadmap.
  • Be proficient in gathering and analysing insights from sources such as Tableau, social media, email, and marketing engagement to inform SPaG content decisions.

  • Liaise effectively with other teams and key stakeholders to organise, communicate, and promote your content.

You’ll work with:

  • Other ECLs, customer-facing teams and key areas of the business

  • Education Category Managers on the top level strategy for the area
  • Your production team of Content Writers, Editors, Designers and Illustrators
  • Production managers and team leaders

We’re interested in anyone who meets a combination of the following:

  • 5 years teaching experience

  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of key strategies and policy drivers within the English education system
  • Experience of delivering projects; from ideation through to completion
  • Be an effective listener and communicator
  • Ability to spot trends and be comfortable acting upon them
  • Is organised, able to work to deadlines and manages time effectively
  • Essential for remote working you will need access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.

KPIs

  • Generate one new idea for SPaG per month.

  • Achieve 100% of roadmap smart goals per month.

  • Ensure SPaG content lines and apps meet financial and usage targets

  • Ensure SPaG content lines and apps achieve an NPS (customer feedback score) of +80 monthly.
