The Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Consultant to support our client’s HR department on complex employee relations matters. This 6-month role involves conducting harassment and discrimination investigations, directly interacting with internal stakeholders, and managing various employee relations issues related to commercial transactions. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings, are adept at handling multiple projects, and possess excellent negotiation and HR advisory skills.
Key Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of HR and employment relations experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record in conducting and facilitating complex, sensitive, and time-critical employee relations investigations related to harassment and discrimination.
Skills:

Responsibilities:
- Investigations: Conduct and facilitate complex, sensitive, and time-critical employee relations investigations related to harassment and discrimination.
- Consultation: Partner with HR Business Partners and internal counsel concerning employee relations issues.
- Legal Expertise: Utilize expert knowledge of U.S. HR policies/procedures and employment law to provide timely and efficient solutions tailored to the client’s business operations.
- Documentation: Source and review related documents, document investigative paths, recommendations, and resolutions, and write clear, concise, and legally defensible investigative summaries.
- Objective Review: Serve as an objective third party in reviewing terminations and disciplinary actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage relevant stakeholders, provide trusted advice, and recommend remedial measures as appropriate.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional HR partners and other business partners, including IT security, risk, compliance, audit, and legal as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure fair and consistent employment practices are in place and being followed; may provide large-scale or 1:1 training as appropriate.
- Training & Development: Design, deliver, and execute large-scale projects or initiatives that promote positive management practices across the enterprise.
- Research & Benchmarking: Conduct research and benchmarking related to projects, initiatives, and process improvements to drive positive employee relations and management practices.
- Data Analysis: Create and track data to identify trends and recommend remedial actions.
- Policy Management: Keep abreast of legal and regulatory requirements and update related policies accordingly.
Compensation: $125,000 to $160,000 along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, 401(k) with match, PTO, and paid holidays while actively on assignment.
Initial Assignment Details:
- Duration: 6 months
- Location: Fully remote (any location), with the requirement that West Coast candidates must be able to start their day by 9:30 AM EST.
- Start Date: Early January
