Key Responsibilities
- Lead both new and ongoing development initiatives with data and process modeling activities.
- Create and oversee entity, logical, and physical data models.
- Execute database design across diverse platforms.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to the application development team.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure application architecture is in line with business objectives.
- Design logical and physical database models within Oracle and SQL Server.
- Optimize SQL queries and troubleshoot issues using SQL and PL/SQL scripts.
- Integrate software components into a cohesive software system.
- Develop prototypes and mockups for user evaluation and approval.
- Produce flowcharts, screen layouts, and documentation to capture logical system requirements.
- Participate in significant agile projects.
- Refine data models to ensure sustained performance levels.
- Manage metadata and employ data modeling tools such as Erwin and ER Studio.
Required Skills
- Proficient in designing logical and physical data models using SQL and/or PL/SQL.
- Demonstrated experience with relational, dimensional, and/or analytic databases.
- Strong SQL skills with a focus on writing packages, functions, and triggers.
- Expertise in query optimization and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with data conversion and transformation methodologies.
- Excellent mentoring and collaborative team skills.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and reviewing logical and physical data models in SQL and/or PL/SQL.
- At least 6 years of practical experience with relational, dimensional, and/or analytic databases.
- A minimum of 6 years in writing SQL packages, functions, and triggers, along with performing mass data updates and deletions.
- A minimum of 3 years in query optimization and performance tuning.
- At least 3 years of experience with data conversion between varying systems and data transformation techniques.
