About the role

Then we may have the perfect role for you as one of the Service Desk Engineers in our ICT Operations team.
Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, a leading provider of Tertiary Education across Aotearoa, is currently recruiting for an Engineer – Service Operations to provide front-line IT advice and support to the organisation’s technology users (staff and students) and resolve IT requests. This full-time position is based at our Māngere Campus, servicing Māngere, and Waitakere (Henderson) Campuses. The position reports to one of our Service Operation Team Leads at our IT home base in Mangakōtukutuku Campus, Hamilton.
Duties for this role include responding to all requests for technical assistance, received in person, by phone and via email. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical hardware and software issues; improving service outcomes through service management processes; delivering on-site technical training as required; and supporting IT asset management in the delivery and installation of hardware. This is a rostered Monday-Friday position and will require occasional Saturday work.
Applicants will have Diploma Computing Level 5 (or related field), and/or be a Microsoft Certified Professional, have at least two years’ experience in an IT service desk or remote support role and hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1). It would be an advantage if you have had experience working within a multi-site IT environment. Excellent relationship management skills, written and oral communication skills, planning and project/task management skills are needed for this role along with knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and a sound understanding of IT technology concepts.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
