Job Overview:

We are seeking an ETL, DWH & BI experienced Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal

candidate will have hands-on experience in testing ETL jobs, DWH application & BI. Automation experience around this would be an advantage. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements, perform system integration testing (SIT), support user acceptance testing (UAT), and support the overall software implementation lifecycle.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities

● Ability to understand requirements and technical reference documents and be able to

understand business requirements

● Prepare test Plan and test strategy documents for data warehousing applications

● Create test scenarios and test cases for data warehousing applications

● Identifying/creating test data to cover identified test scenarios

● Managed lower environments for testing availability and test data preparation

● Perform the Back-End testing to verify and validate data consistency by writing and

executing Oracle PL/SQL queries on the database.

● Perform extensive data validation against data warehouse using automation

● Ability to write PL/SQL queries and validate PL/SQL stored procedures

● Handled SCD Type 1/ Type 2 to populate current and historical data to dimensions and

fact tables in the data warehouse.

● Responsible for browser compatibility testing on different platforms and data validations

for all reports

● Testing of data validation jobs developed in the Data Stage environment.

● Validate ETL processes to load data through the Staging layer into DWH

● Ability to write UNIX / PERL scripts

● Perform system testing, regression testing, integration testing and produce test reports

● Validate graphs for extracting, cleansing, transforming, integrating, and loading data

using ETL Tool.

● Conducted variance management by analyzing and verifying test results, providing

status and progress reports.

● Work with release coordinators in ensuring timely delivery of test environments and test

results.

● Execution of automation scripts during testing cycles

● Responsible for reporting defects found during testing and retest of defects

● Ability to understand, troubleshoot and differentiate defects, data issues and

requirement gaps

● Responsible for on-time delivery and timely escalations/update of risks, issues, status

and exemptions to leadership

● Effective communication with the team, leadership, internal and external customers

covering all aspects of team needs

● Collaborate with business users and technical teams to validate defect fixes and re-test

impacted areas

● Facilitated UAT readiness meetings and Production readiness meeting to mitigate

issues and outline defect deferral process to facilitate progress.

● Assist business users during UAT and other testing phases by providing support and

providing feedback for improvement.

● Awareness of different software development and QA methodologies

● Stay up to date with the latest automation tools, technologies and trends

Required Skills & Competencies

● Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies

● Experience in using IBM DataStage, QualityStage

● Experience in Teradata database

● Experience in WinSP or Putty or similar UNIX command tools

● Knowledge and Familiarity using TOSCA

● Familiarity with DataStage, QualityStage and Teradata

● Experience in SOAP services testing

● Good Knowledge of PL/SQL and hands on experience writing complex SQL queries and

SP’s

● Experience in banking/fintech applications testing is a plus

● Good analytical skills, troubleshooting and resolution skills

● Excellent communication and documentation skills

● Ability to self-learn and grasp the knowledge quickly

Required Qualifications & Experience

● 7+ years of experience in the quality assurance industry, along with relevant tertiary

qualifications

● 3+ years of hands-on testing experience in ETL, DWH & BI areas

● More than 1 year of automation testing experience in ETL, DWH & BI areas is a plus

● Certification in ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) is a plus

● Certification in TOSCA is a plus
