Swan Family Lawyers is a city law firm specialising in family law. We  seek a family lawyer to join the firm as Senior Associate.

We have a strong reputation in the family law field, and we make it our aim to guide our clients every step of the way and provide legal advice in clear and plain language.

The firm is headed by Christopher Swan who is recognised as a leader in conflict resolution. The successful applicant will be required to assume conduct of an existing file load as well as take on new clients.

Swan Family Lawyers has a commitment to Continuing Professional Development for all professional team members and will meet the cost of ongoing training and membership with the Law Society of South Australia and Family Law Section.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

• Represent clients in all areas of family law;
• Explore alternative dispute resolution options for resolving family law matters where possible;
• Engage and interact with clients both face to face and on the phone;
• Be a key team player;
• Provide timely and accurate advice in accordance with case law, legislation and court rules;
• Prepare court documents;
• Attend court hearings;
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with clients and other members of the profession;
• Be involved in firm marketing and development initiatives

To be successful for this role the applicant must have:

• An appreciation that living through a breakdown of relationship can be a stressful time for clients which is demonstrated by empathy and an ability to balance client interests and family law process;
• A high degree of computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
• A strong attention to detail; and
• A high level of organisational and time management skills.

A knowledge of Leap Practice Management software would be an advantage.

A salary of between $150,000 to $250,000,  will be offered with the prospect of partnership within 12 months with earnings in excess of $300,000.
