Job DescriptionEssential Duties:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, with specific Government construction experience.
- Promptly address all contract/government issues on the project, informing Sr. PM and/or Director of Operations.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing project finances.
- Update all project health information for tracking by upper management.
- Work with team to manage change orders effectively, no T&M.
- Update the project budget biweekly at a minimum.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly pay request documents and complete End of Month spreadsheet by the due date.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders utilizing interpersonal understanding, conflict resolution abilities as well as concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in output.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of federal construction processes, methodologies, and project management.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Have a sense of urgency when tending to field issues, providing strategic solutions to keep projects on track.
- Manage the field teams’ operational engagement by ensuring they are trained, supported, and held to the successful fulfillment of individual performance indicators (TaCS).
- Conduct weekly internal meeting with Gideon team utilizing Procore’s template agenda and minutes.
- Ensure all site supervisors are performing in accordance with their job descriptions. Provide guidance as necessary.
- Our leaders set the tone. Set the standard and lead by example.
- Coordinate projects start up, pre-con submittals, build and maintain baseline schedule, execute buyout including contract and subcontract distribution, work closely with field team and client to ensure smooth project execution. Update job reports with work progress, costs & billing, scheduling updates timely closeout.
- Ensure all pre-con submittals are approved prior to scheduled mobilization date.
- Strategic buy-out of all scope of work related to the project.
- Initiate all work orders, service orders, and purchase orders necessary for the project.
- Ensure the master schedule (p6) is updated at least monthly.
- Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of Department of Defense (DOD) federal construction experience Knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles. Familiar with various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
Required Skills:
- Strong background in Government construction as a Project Manager
- Must have strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
- Familiarity of Primavera P6.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Must be able to travel on a limited basis.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in Resident Management System (RMS). Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Applicants living in a HUBZone area a plus.
