We are hiring a Fire OS Developer Engineer to join our team! 🚀

Position Overview: As a Fire OS Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the customization, development, and maintenance of Fire OS, the operating system powering millions of streaming devices. This position demands expertise in Android AOSP, embedded systems, and multimedia technologies to deliver high-performance, user-friendly experiences.

Must Have Skills:

• Good knowledge of English language.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP), including customization of the Android Framework.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems and how they interact with hardware.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel and low-level programming.
• Experience with multimedia frameworks like ExoPlayer and integration of DRM solutions (Widevine, PlayReady).
• Proficiency in debugging tools such as ADB, logcat, and performance profiling tools.
• Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, JSON, and integration of APIs into applications.
• Experience in designing and maintaining database schemas, and familiarity with SQLite or similar databases.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Fire OS, Android, or embedded systems development.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain customized builds of Fire OS, ensuring optimal performance for streaming devices.
• Work on the integration and debugging of hardware components with Fire OS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improve existing ones.
• Solve complex technical issues and perform system-level debugging for device-specific problems.
• Write scalable and maintainable code following best practices.
• Implement secure solutions for managing multimedia content using DRM.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development.
• Use collaboration tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence to track tasks and progress.
