Forexclear Support Engineer (Remote)

LSEG is looking for an expert Support Engineer/Analyst with good technical knowledge of Financial Systems to join the ForexClear Production team. You will be responsible for supervising the smooth running of batch processes, investigating issues and performing general maintenance and administration of systems. Out of hours support overnight and at weekends (rota based) can be required. Strong business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations. Whilst full scale coding and technical development isn’t encouraged minor code changes and testing will be required. Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritise feature work. This role may also involve some mentoring of offshore staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as Domain Expert / Support in all issues related to the ForexClear platform from a technical and business perspective
• Provide continuous improvements and automation to ensure the support function remains efficient and as secure and resilient as possible.  
• Support of a critical element of the London financial infrastructure.
• Noticing anomalies in a running system before they become incidents
• Design solutions for longer term fixes for application bugs and small functionality improvement requests

Out of hours support

• Be available for overnight support of production services to ensure successful completion of processing
• Respond to overnight calls and take care of issues
• Support weekend releases and maintenance work
• Participate in Production out of hours activities such as Disaster Recovery exercises

Assist in project related work

• Building and supporting parallel environments for multiple project streams
• Making code improvements using version control software

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience of the Murex (3.1) application desirable
• Experience in an investment banking environment and/or IT support function
• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities
• Used to high pressure banking environments working to tight deadlines
• Coding experience preferable (Java/Python)
• Strong scripting skills (UNIX, Python,  Ansible,  Terraform).
• Software version control (Bitbucket, GIT)
• Preferable to have AWS Cloud experience (RDS,  EC2,  Autoscaling,  VPC)
• Good Experience supporting Java based distributed platforms.
• Preferable to have understanding on Kafka, micro service architecture and cache management systems
• Solid understanding of Oracle RDBMS including scripting and performance monitoring and troubleshooting
• Preferable to have Pricing knowledge for different Asset classes-Swaps, IRD, FX, Fixed Income, REPO etc
• Understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies 
• Must have excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
