Position: Front End Designer
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Alberta, Canada
Overview:
Our dynamic company is seeking up to four (4) talented and innovative Front End Designers to join our team. As a Front End Designer, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance and develop digital services. This role will involve working on multiple projects focused on service innovation, program review, and digital transformation, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
– Create engaging and user-friendly front-end design solutions for digital services.
– Develop foundational design artifacts across various platforms, including wireframes, design pattern libraries, and build-ready design specifications.
– Craft plans for design research components and provide justifiable design decisions.
– Actively participate in agile project management processes such as sprint planning and reviews.
– Conduct usability testing and report on the effectiveness of current and future designs.
– Recommend improvements to ensure design accessibility and compliance with standards.
Qualifications:
– Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Front End Designer, focusing on enhancing services via web and other channels.
– UX Development: Proficient in developing UX artifacts like storyboards, wireframes, interactive prototypes.
– Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile environment within a cross-functional team for at least 2 years.
– Design Systems: Skilled in building and maintaining component libraries and design systems.
– Problem Solving: Capable of exploring multiple design solutions and communicating them effectively through sketches, user flows, and prototypes.
– Device Design: Experience in production design for various digital devices.
– Accessibility Standards: Familiarity with accessibility principles, including WCAG.
– Design Methodologies: Understanding of current methodologies and design thinking.
– Tools: Experience with front-end design tools such as Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma.
– Public Sector Experience: Experience working on projects of similar scale and complexity to public sector initiatives.
Working Conditions:
– Primarily remote work with occasional travel to Alberta for meetings or work sessions.
– Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
– Provision of personal equipment for remote work is required, but credentials and access to necessary systems will be provided.
Additional Requirements:
– Provide a comprehensive portfolio showcasing relevant work and annotated to explain the projects.
– Ability to pass a criminal record check and potentially higher-level security clearances if necessary.
– Open to potential contract extensions based on project requirements and agreements.

Pay: $93.52 per hour
