Job Title: Full Stack Developer – Senior

Location: Primarily Remote (some on-site meetings in Edmonton, Alberta)

Role Overview:

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be part of a collaborative team working on service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, led by product owners, to deliver efficient, effective, and user-friendly digital services.

Key Responsibilities:

– Engage in project research and discovery, including conducting field research and user interviews.

– Lead technical discovery and generate related artifacts such as diagrams and documentation.

– Design and develop solutions based on in-depth project understanding.

– Complete features for projects that enhance user experience.

– Identify and resolve both functional and non-functional defects.

– Collaborate with frontend designers to ensure solutions align with a consistent look and feel.

– Advise product owners on technical options to facilitate frequent delivery.

– Support solution deployment for limited and general availability.

– Contribute to the development of reusable components and capabilities.

– Foster ongoing development by onboarding new team members and maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements:

Must-Have Experience:

– 5+ years of experience using source control systems, particularly Git, in collaborative environments.

– 5+ years of experience with automated unit testing and integration testing.

– 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer on complex software solutions in an agile environment.

– 3+ years of experience working with production applications using modern application frameworks.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

– 1+ year of experience in transforming legacy systems into modern digital services.

– 2+ years of experience with database technologies, including both relational and alternative databases.

– 2+ years of experience with design patterns, software architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.

– Experience working in teams that incorporate UX and service design.

– Experience in creating and implementing new processes.

Other Requirements:

– Must provide a current criminal record check upon request.

– Potential for higher-level security clearances, such as “RCMP Top Secret,” may be required.

– Successful candidates will complete mandatory training courses, including cybersecurity and information management.

Contract Details:

– Duration: 1-year contract with the possibility of extension for up to 24 months.

– Full-time position: 7.25 hours per day, evolving with project needs.
