What you will do
- Design and implement sophisticated features and functionalities end-to-end using Java, PHP, GraphQL, CSS, JavaScript, and React, ensuring high performance and scalability;
- Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into high-quality solutions, driving product evolution and excellence;
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to best practices and coding standards. Conduct thorough code reviews, provide actionable feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement;
- Investigate and resolve technical challenges, including bugs and performance bottlenecks, while leading efforts to enhance the system’s reliability and efficiency;
- Enhance and maintain the Employer Resources Library’s WordPress CMS, optimizing its performance and ensuring a seamless user experience.
Must haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development with a proven track record in both backend and frontend technologies;
- Expertise in Java and PHP programming and related frameworks;
- Experience in frontend development, using React;
- MAC OS experience required (to be discussed during the client interview);
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to haves
- Extensive experience with the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operational oversight;
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical issues;
- Experience working in an agile development environment, contributing to iterative improvements and rapid delivery;
- Proficiency in CMS integration and customization, particularly with WordPress;
- Experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and Datadog for version control, project management, and monitoring;
- Familiarity with Java and React testing frameworks such as JUnit and React Testing Library, ensuring robust test coverage and reliability;
- Advanced knowledge of GraphQL for API development, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning;
- Experience with AWS services, specifically S3 and CloudFront, for scalable cloud solutions;
- Expertise in using Terraform for deploying and managing cloud infrastructure, and promoting infrastructure as code practices;
- Understanding of SEO principles to enhance organic traffic and improve site visibility.
