Full Stack Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of our AI tooling projects and play a key leadership role within our engineering team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering medium-sized projects end-to-end, including system architecture, front-end, and back-end development. You will also act as a Tech Lead (TL), mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with our data collection platform, designing and building features that support both our human operations and research teams. This role requires a strong full-stack skill set, as well as the ability to guide and mentor less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and own products: Build features from scratch using front-end and back-end, system design, debugging, and testing.

2. Build systems that are robust, scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.

3. Build innovative human and synthetic data generation algorithms pipelines.

4. Understand the training and eval data needs for the frontier models in the industry and help create technical roadmap and prioritization.

5. Drive high priority data pipelines and products for data collections for the company.

6. Can work closely with product users frequently to collect feedback and iterate the products.

Exceptional candidates may have:

1. Proven track record of delivering high-quality web applications in fast-paced settings (e.g., tech lead, startup founder).

2. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration.

3. Proficient in linking ML model behavior to data distribution and quality.

4. Experienced in fine-tuning large language models.

Required Skills

1. Fast prototype:

Able to get MVP out quickly and iterate and improve. Prefers a quick development cycle with fast feedback instead of building for perfection.

2. Tech Stack:

a. Languages: Proficiency in Typescript and Python.

b. Frameworks: Strong experience with React and Node.js frameworks such as Nest.js, etc. .

c. Database: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

3. Experience with building and applying LLM:

a. Prompt engineering, RAG.

b. SFT, RLHF
