Full Stack Engineer (Remote)

*This is a full-time, permanent remote role paid on 1099 basis with a near-shore team based in Colombia. You will be working remotely with a US based team and the ability to converse in English is required.*

Next Venture’s client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to work for one of the fastest growing carriers in the trucking industry.

The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as designing, implementing, and managing both front end and back end solutions to support the companies operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack development, cloud, and align with solid DevOps fundamentals regarding automation.

Candidates with experience as an engineer in the freight, trucking, shipping, logistics, or transportation industries are preferred. We encourage you to apply even if you have not worked in these industries or if you only meet some of the required and preferred skills below.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage scalable full-stack applications on AWS
• Develop and maintain scalable web applications
• Design and implement API-driven backend services.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Develop and deploy applications using Python, Flask, .Net and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• Redesign and refactor critical software components using the programming techniques in .Net
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate using Kubernetes.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process.
• Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure resources.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in software development ideally focused on Microsoft platform. Hands on experience in C#, .Net, Python, or Flask
• 5+ years of experience building, running, and deploying systems in a production environment
• 3+ years of experience in full stack development.
• Ability to converse, read, and write in English in a professional environment
• Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• Strong proficiency with AWS Data Engineering tools and AWS Services
• Experience using Docker or similar container build and orchestration.
• Hands on experience using and configuring build pipelines with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar.
• Thorough understanding of the emerging cloud environments (public and private)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Bicep/ARM Templates.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with continuous integration.
• Strong knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, computing, and security principles in cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
• Experience in building microservice based services and managing large scale distributed, scalable and highly available systems
• Experience in SQL and NOSQL DB especially in MongoDB

Education and Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.

Working Conditions: Remote from Colombia

Compensation: (COP annual equivalent to $60,000 USD)
