About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack PHP Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will excel in creating scalable and high-performing web applications, with expertise in PHP, MSSQL, MySQL, and JavaScript. As a Full Stack PHP Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications that power our business. This role is perfect for a developer who’s ready to take ownership of their projects, collaborate with a diverse team, and deliver impactful solutions.

This is a contract position, for a 12-month fixed term, with the strong likelihood of continuation.

Key Responsibilities

Write well-structured, efficient, and testable code using industry best practices.
Integrate and manage databases, including MSSQL and MySQL, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Design, develop, and maintain dynamic web applications using PHP and JavaScript frameworks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Debug and troubleshoot existing systems, implementing fixes and enhancements as needed.
Contribute to the product roadmap by participating in design discussions and architectural planning.
Document system functionalities, workflows, and code.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members as needed.
Ensure the platform adheres to quality, security, and extensibility standards.
Stay updated on emerging web technologies and implement them where relevant.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Skills:
Proficient in PHP, with a deep understanding of frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
Expertise in MSSQL and MySQL, including query optimization and database architecture.
Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, with experience in libraries and frameworks like jQuery and React.js.
Familiarity with server-side technologies, especially Node.js.
Proficient in API development and integration (RESTful and/or GraphQL).
Tools: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and development tools.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with full-stack development, including UI/UX considerations.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
