About the Role

Reporting to the CTO, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless data acquisition and real-time communication between metering devices and Amptera. Your work will directly contribute to building scalable, efficient, and secure energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Head-End System Development: Design a robust system for real-time communication and data management.

• Data Acquisition & Processing: Ensure efficient collection, validation, and storage of metering data.

• Protocol Integration: Enable communication using protocols like DLMS/COSEM, Modbus, and M-Bus.

• Reliability & Security: Build failover mechanisms, ensure uptime, and implement stringent security practices.

• Performance Optimisation: Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance.

• Documentation & Training: Create technical documentation and transfer knowledge to internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in head-end system development, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.

• Deep understanding of metering protocols and data communication methods (TCP/IP, MQTT, WebSocket).

• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and designing secure, scalable architectures.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

• Familiarity with smart metering, energy management, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

• Agile project management experience.
