Upwind is seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Demand Generation to lead our efforts in driving high-quality leads, nurturing prospects, and scaling our pipeline to meet ambitious growth goals. As a critical member of the marketing team, you’ll own event strategy, PPC campaigns, and innovative prospect engagement initiatives, working closely with sales and marketing leaders to align demand generation efforts with Upwind’s overarching strategy.

The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a data-driven mindset, a passion for collaboration, and a proven track record of executing successful demand generation campaigns. This role is pivotal in bridging marketing and sales, ensuring alignment, and driving measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute integrated demand generation campaigns across digital and offline channels.
  • Develop and manage paid advertising campaigns (e.g., LinkedIn, Google Ads) with advanced targeting strategies like retargeting, lookalike audiences, and contextual advertising.
  • Lead innovative initiatives such as gamified tools, interactive assets, and micro-campaigns to engage and convert prospects.
  • Own the planning and execution of all non-conference events – including regional events, sponsorships, and other field marketing initiatives, such as dinners, meetups, and executive roundtables.
  • Partner with the Field Content Marketing Manager to align event follow-ups and integrate them into broader campaigns.
  • Work closely with sales, the Head of Sales Growth, and marketing leadership to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and execution strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for sales to align on follow-up strategies, lead management, and campaign performance.
  • Define and track KPIs for demand generation, such as cost per lead, MQL-to-SQL conversion rates, and event ROI.
  • Analyze campaign performance and use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and improve results.
  • Collaborate with the Programs & Campaigns Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and Digital Marketing Content Manager to ensure campaigns are integrated and aligned with messaging.
  • Provide guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of demand generation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in demand generation, field marketing, or a similar role, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful demand generation campaigns that drive measurable results.
  • Expertise in digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads) and event strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, optimize performance, and report on key metrics.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to align marketing and sales teams.
  • A creative thinker who brings innovative ideas to engage prospects and nurture leads.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams or cross-functional projects.
