About the Role
Bring new life to Humpty’s hallmark events
As our Head of Events, you will be the driving force behind Humpty’s signature events, including the renowned Balmoral Burn and the Great Humpty Ball.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be a strategic thinker, a hands-on leader, and a natural collaborator. You’ll also work with and guide our Senior Events Coordinator who we are looking to recruit in the new year. Events range from intimate networking dinners to large-scale outdoor participation events and gala fundraising balls.
You’ll deliver the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of high-profile events that inspire, engage, and delight Humpty’s supporters. Your role will ensure every event reflects Humpty’s mission and delivers one of a kind memorable experiences that raise essential funds for paediatric medical equipment in hospitals throughout Australia, supporting sick children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Event Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of Humpty’s annual fundraising event strategy, ensuring alignment with Humpty’s goals and revenue targets.
- Develop detailed project delivery plans and manage critical paths for each event.
- Oversee and deliver on all event elements, including logistics, supplier coordination, and on-the-day event management including working with local government, traffic management and the Police.
- Engage the wider Humpty Team to ensure seamless event delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with corporate sponsors to maximise sponsorship activation and event branding opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, donors, suppliers, and supporters.
Budget & Financial Management
- Oversee fundraising event budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Track event expenses, manage supplier payments, and ensure cost-effective decision-making.
- Provide financial forecasts and ensure accurate reporting for all events.
Post-Event Reporting & Innovative improvement
- Produce comprehensive post-event reports, capturing key learnings and recommendations.
- Use data and feedback to drive improvement in event execution and supporter experience.
What We’re Looking For
- 7-10+ years of event management experience, including large outdoor events, gala balls, and stakeholder networking events.
- Proven experience in fundraising events, ideally within the Australian not-for-profit sector.
- End-to-end event planning and delivery expertise for complex, large-scale events.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships with corporate sponsors, contractors, and supporters.
- Advanced project management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality events on time and within budget.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel interstate and work weekends or evenings for special events, as required.
- Adaptable, flexible, and calm under pressure, especially in dynamic event environments.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve excellence in every event delivered.
