Position Overview

The Implementation & Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the onboarding of new business to MedOne and assisting current clients with new or changing plan features. The Implementation & Project Manager ensures consistent client satisfaction throughout the implementation process through coordination of internal parties and external partners. This position is responsible for successfully meeting implementation timelines and ensuring contractual guarantees related to implementation and client transition. The Implementation & Project Manager plays a key role in creating a solid foundation of growth for new and existing client and partner relationships.

Essential Job Functions

  • Delivers a positive onboarding experience for clients, business partners, and key stakeholders. Ensures appropriate levels of service and operational support during the implementation process.
  • Initiates onboarding, coordinates meeting/call cadence with internal and external parties and communicates implementation process and major milestones.
  • Prepares for and leads on-site client visits and/ or virtual conference calls.
  • Works with the client to understand their current plans and the clients’ goals/requirements seeking clarity and confirmation as needed.
  • Effectively educates the client and business partners on MedOne’s processes and programs, providing plan recommendations and alternatives to promote understanding and thoughtful decisions.
  • Gathers and translates client requirements into the MedOne templates and processes, maintains thorough and accurate documentation, and ensures appropriate approvals and sign-offs from the client, business partners, and internal resources.
  • Prompts internal discussion of non-standard client plan design requirements and service expectations; Confirms internal acceptance or drives solutioning and deployment.
  • Manages implementation projects in compliance with client service agreements to eliminate risks for non-adherence.
  • Utilizes project management skills to track milestones and deliverables and provides regular status updates to team members and Executive Leadership including identifying potential roadblocks for a successful implementation.
  • Provide support for clients following go-live, including the monitoring of claims activity and management of client problem resolution relating to Plan Administration and/or Data Services.
  • Maintains accountability for timely resolution of configuration errors identified during or after the implementation process.
  • Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns post- implementation.
  • Assists with Plan Administration department problem resolution including documentation of necessary changes, testing, tracking, and reporting progress/completion to key stake holders and internal and external resources.
  • Initiates and oversees development and enhancement of the CRM (Customer relationship management) system and Medone templates, implementation processes, and testing and validation protocols to improve efficiency and internal/external satisfaction and ensure data and reporting integrity.
  • Collaborates and cultivates positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Participates in continued professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest PBM products, services, and technical enhancements.
  • Assists with cross departmental MedOne projects needing project management assistance and completes special projects as assigned.

  • Located at Corporate in Dubuque, IA or fully remote.
  • Must be able to travel on an as needed basis, some overnight travel within the U.S.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver’s license and insurance.
  • Must possess personal vehicle sufficiently reliable to meet the requirements of the job.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related area.
  • 5 years of project management experience in healthcare related industry, preferably the PBM sector.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (complex formulas and tools), and basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, clarity and concision, and altering approach to the audience.
  • Cooperation and collaboration skills necessary to establish rapport, promote open dialogue, and reach clarity.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills (track and manage issues, ensure the right teams are engaged, facilitate comprehensive and timely issue resolution, etc.).

Highly Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 3 years in a Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) environment.
  • 3 years of implementation experience working with and through internal and external parties.
  • 2 years backend working knowledge of Dynamics 365.
