Job Title: IBM Mainframe – IMS Database Software Developer

Experience/Seniority: Senior

Responsibilities

• Design, coding, and testing to provide high-level programming solutions for IMS Hierarchical Database.
• Identifying and resolving database issues with effective troubleshooting techniques.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Support, Performance, and System Verification, to deliver high-quality software products.
• Contribute to problem-solving initiatives by analyzing and resolving issues reported by customers and internal teams.
• Engaging in continuous professional learning to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in database management.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Deep knowledge of IMS Product Environments: IMS TM & IMS DB.
• Maintaining and enhancing the performance of IMS Databases: HISAM, PHIDAM, HDAM, and LDS.
• Extensive experience with IMS Database Control Blocks: DBD, PSB, PCB.
• Experience in developing applications using any of the programming languages: COBOL, PL/I, C++, JCL, knowledge of Assembly is advantageous.
• Proficient in developing products and offerings on Mainframe based systems for both batch and on-line processing.
• Good understanding of source control management tools (GitHub) and Agile Life Cycle Management tools such as Jira.

Requirements

• B1+ English
• Stress resistance, ability to work in a high-loaded atmosphere
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• VSAM files handling
• IBM File Manager or similar
• CICS TS programming skills
• DB2 for z/OS  programming skills 
• Adabas & Natural is a plus
