INBOUND TOUR OPERATOR-TRAVEL PLANNER: R20k-R30k DOE


Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for an Inbound Tour Operator: Travel Planner at the Cape Town office of a tour operator specialising in luxury holiday packages focused on golf and safari travel. These include wine, golf, safari, island and adventure experiences in Southern Africa’s championship golf courses and Big 5 safari experiences. The ideal candidate is a passionate and skilled Consultant with a proven track record and who shares the Client’s values of excellence, creativity, and precision.


Requirements: Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years inbound tour consulting experience
  • In depth product knowledge of Southern Africa
  • Having a passion for the travel industry
  • All-rounder with experience in FIT and ad hoc group quoting and processing
  • Figures orientated
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Good judgement and adept use of travel research and technologies
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English, be eloquent telephonically
  • Proven ability to work independently and handle bookings unsupervised.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly


Key Performance Areas

  • Processing of converted quotes to bookings
  • Engaging with various South African suppliers to ensure you secure the best product and service coupled with the best possible price
  • Ability to professionally communicate via email as well as telephonically
  • Take ownership ensuring all elements are taken care of in a professional and organised manner
  • Be able to build relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Must be able to multitask between current and new quotes

Remuneration, Training, Working Hours

  • Competitive salary: R20,000 – R30,000+ CTC (depending on experience)
  • Incentive programme
  • Primarily office-based employment (Claremont, Cape Town), but will consider part flexi/home-based
