Information Technology Project Manager (Remote)

Job Description:

Cogent Infotech is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Project Manager to lead and oversee technology-driven projects in the USA within our dynamic and innovative organization.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget while managing teams and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders in the USA. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Initiation:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, resources, timelines, and milestones.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather project requirements.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
• Project Execution & Coordination:
• Lead project teams and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues; develop contingency plans.
• Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout project execution.
• Budget & Resource Management:
• Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Communication & Reporting:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project communication, including status updates and stakeholder meetings.
• Provide regular project reports and updates to key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams and across departments.
• RFP (Request for Proposal) Responses:
• Develop and coordinate responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Work with relevant departments to gather required documentation, craft tailored responses, and ensure timely submission.
• Identify strategic opportunities and align responses to meet business objectives.
• Resource & Candidate Identification:
• Identify and assess the right candidates and resources needed for project success.
• Work closely with recruitment and HR teams to ensure timely sourcing and onboarding of qualified professionals.
• Assess team capabilities and recommend necessary training, hiring, or resource allocation adjustments.
• Process Improvement & Best Practices:
• Promote project management best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance productivity.
• Support organizational change management initiatives related to project goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Must have 3-5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the tech industry. 10 + years of overall experience.
• Must have experience working with clients in North America
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
• Proficiency with project management software tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project).
• Experience in RFP/RFI responses and related documentation processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with remote or distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, CAPM, or other project management certifications.
• Experience working for public sector clients in the US
• Experience managing software development, infrastructure, or digital transformation projects.
• Familiarity with risk management and change management principles.
