My client is a progressive integrated accounting and wealth services firm. Their key offerings include accounting, tax, advisory, SMSF & financial planning. Their clients include HNW family groups and trading businesses of varying size and complexity.
The firm embraces a new age approach to accounting – moving away from the number crunching stereotype and offering a more personal and consultative service, combined with the use of the latest technology and software on the market.
Inside the office you’ll find a dynamic and stable team. Many of the staff have been with the business for over 6 years. They attribute their tenure to the top-tier work environment and development opportunities that the firm can offer. This includes above market remuneration, competitive annual bonus structure, the opportunity to be front-line with clients from day-one, f regular networking and team-based events, market leading flexibility, annual bonus additional annual leave entitlements, and future equity opportunities.
They are now looking to recruit an ambitious Intermediate Accountant to join their team. You will be reporting into two Managers – both of whom have been with the business from the early days of their career, and are a fantastic examples of the growth opportunities the firm can offer. This role would involve shadowing both of them – helping them to manage their respective client relationships, and working with the firm’s offshore team to support the delivery of compliance work. The view would be to grow this role into a Senior position, where you would then manage your own portfolio of clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work alongside a high-quality team, where you can develop at a fast pace, without the bureaucracy and red tape that comes with larger practices.
While full-time hours are the preference, candidates with relevant experience, who are still completing their university studies will also be considered.
Key duties include:
- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for different entities (Individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships)
- Assisting the management team with advisory and project based work
- Communicating with clients and managing their expectations
- Dealing with regulatory bodies such as the ATO and ASIC on behalf of clients
The ideal candidate will:
- Posses an accounting relevant tertiary qualification
- Be currently undertaking CA/CPA or be looking to enroll
- 12 – 18 + months experience in public practice
- Proficiency in Xero and XPM (highly advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be curious and have a problem-solving mindset
