Investment Analyst (Remote)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join our Lower Middle Market (LMM) Private Equity firm, which focuses on rolling up marketing agencies across the United States. This role will involve working directly with the partners to support financial modeling, analysis, and reporting for potential acquisitions and portfolio management. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in financial analysis, excellent communication skills, and a passion for private equity and the marketing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Modeling and Analysis:

• Build and maintain detailed financial models for evaluating potential acquisitions, including DCF, LBO, and other valuation methodologies.
• Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and operational metrics to assess profitability and growth potential.
• Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to support decision-making.

Deal Execution Support:

• Assist in due diligence processes, including market research, competitive analysis, and financial reviews.
• Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal, accounting, and other advisory teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions.

Portfolio Management:

• Monitor and report on the performance of portfolio companies, including financial performance and key operational metrics.
• Support the development of growth strategies and operational improvements for portfolio companies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for portfolio companies.

Market and Industry Research:

• Conduct research on the marketing agency sector, including trends, competitive landscape, and potential targets.
• Identify and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in alignment with the firm’s investment strategy.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Collaborate closely with the partners to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards to update stakeholders on investment performance and market trends.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, CFA) are a plus.

Experience:

• 2-3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory services, or a related field.
• Prior exposure to M&A, financial modeling, and the marketing agency sector is preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and PowerPoint for presentations.
• Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, PitchBook) and CRM systems is advantageous.
