The client is seeking an Investment Consultant to develop a roadmap for a $100M subordinated debt fund focused on renewable energy and efficiency investments in Senegal, for launch in 2025. This role will involve unlocking local currency financing from local banks and achieve at least 280 megawatts of renewable energy of the next 7 years. The consultant will work closely with Senegal’s sovereign wealth fund while reporting to the client. The consultant must be effective at managing stakeholders across the public and private sectors.

Deliverables
- Mobilize strategies for raising capital including identification and courting of potential funders, in particular DFIs
- Drive all activity to support fund raising including pitch presentation, model and organization of roadshow with objective leverage COP 29 to present ideas and mobilize interest
- Develop an operational plan for the subordinated debt fund, focusing on governance and investment decision-making processes
- Conduct stress testing of financial models to assess various scenarios for fund performance
- Collaborate with Senegal’s sovereign wealth fund and the client to ensure the fund’s alignment with national goals
- Provide clear and actionable recommendations on financial structuring and fund management
Requirements
Experience required
- Expertise in raising funds across public and private sector and structuring a fund
- Experience in setting up and structuring a new fund Exposure to subordinated debt funds, a plus Familiarity with Senegal’s financial landscape and renewable energy sector
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience in capital raising and fund structuring in Africa Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to conduct stress testing
- Experience in developing governance and investment decision-making frameworks
- Ability to devise capital-raising strategies targeting DFIs and other financing bodies
Soft Skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders
- Problem-solving abilities to manage financial and operational challenges Adaptability and leadership in complex financial and operational environments

Operational Requirements
- Bilingual French/English Reporting to the client, the consultant will work closely with Senegal’s sovereign wealth fund and other stakeholders in the country
- Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate different time zones and urgent needs
