As an IT DevOps Engineer Lead in the Enterprise Development Capabilities & Services (EDCS) organization, you’ll have an enterprise role in establishing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) across IT to encompass principles and practices that integrate software engineering with IT infrastructure and operations to enhance system scalability and reliability. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical and leadership skills to make broad organizational impact. You’ll help implement, operationalize, and mature SRE practices for EDCS-managed services while teaching and upskilling junior engineers along the way. By utilizing your proven experience in working across organizations and collaborating successfully, you’ll also consult and guide other groups in IT in establishing SRE practices within their organizations.
This is a remote position for US based work only.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication, Math) and minimum of six years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in designing and scripting infrastructure solutions.
- In lieu of degree, minimum of eight years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in designing and scripting infrastructure solutions.
Preferred skills
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in public cloud (AWS or Azure) and associated toolsets (Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Advanced skills in one or more of the following: C#, Typescript/JavaScript, Python, Go
- Expertise in CI/CD and release engineering tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and deployment patterns (blue/green, canary)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and or OpenTelemetry
- Experience in IT networking and security; comfortability navigating the unknown in a small, self-directed agile team
Compensation
- $121,000-$141,000/year
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
